Take your shoes off, get comfy and look around. You'll see, I'm a big fan of real people and real moments.
In many ways business is business but, to me, business is also personal.
I want to tell true stories. Beautiful stories. Stories with scuff marks. Ones that radiate joy and embrace imperfection.
I believe life is too short to try to be someone else. I want you to let go of everything you think a photoshoot SHOULD be and be you. Many of the photos we are taking are not just for you, they are for your kids. Your nieces. Your grandsons. Your friends. For the people who come after you. They may only ever know you by these photos, so the question is, how well do you want them to know you?
I'd love to capture the real you.
It’s been a rough few weeks. I’ve dropped the ball many times and have been MIA trying to protect the remaining threads of my mental health.
And I know I’m not alone. So many are struggling with the weight of the world right now.
While I don’t need sympathy, I could definitely use some grace. Even sending emails has paralyzed me some days.
I’m working through it and will be just fine. But if you are out there feeling like “how is everyone else just going about their lives like this world isn’t completely horrifying right now?” You’re not alone. We were never meant to see all this hate and violence so readily. I’ve seen things I never wanted to see and can’t unsee and it’s going to take me a little longer to process and be at peace.
If that’s you too, I hope you receive and give yourself grace. Take care of yourself. And no matter what, stay kind.

Made this for my son @efloftin.
As an artist, I feel like it’s so important to take breaks from the art that gives me income and make art with other mediums. Just started playing around with an outline I already had.

Just a reminder. Change starts with one person choosing to still be kind in a world full of darkness. Be the light.

Had fun touring @jointhetalentschool recently for their open house!
It’s that season.
This stage of life with boys would not be possible without E’s friends’ moms. We have a bond happening that is a lifeline I didn’t know I needed.

Our boys are so tough but they still need their moms. It’s a fun age.
Print the photos that make you smile every time you look at them.

Who always has your back and will walk through the storm with you? Tag them.
I live for capturing the unexpected moments of connection. This moment with @sakiser_ and @sydney.kiser was one that had sister written all over it. Such a beautiful visual metaphor for friendship too.
I truly believe we were never meant to live at this pace. Most of us are just out here hanging on for dear life. I don’t know about you but running on empty, full-speed-ahead, made me feel like I was getting nowhere.
So I started saying no. Putting less things on my calendar. Turns out, a lot of my anxiety and depression was directly related to overextending myself - my brain, my energy, my time, and my heart.
You are never going to please everyone. So if you’re doing your best you need to stop apologizing. Do what you need to do to maintain good mental/physical health and not overextend yourself.
You can’t go to every party. You can’t donate to every cause. You can’t help every person. And you definitely don’t have to explain to anyone what you are doing behind-the-scenes. They get to choose if they assume the worst or give you the benefit of the doubt based on what they know about you. If they choose to assume the worst, it’s on them, not you.
Who else is out here just trying their best?
